VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS http://tinyurl.com/9sn82
was released on DVD early last year. I remember very well seeing it back in the day at the Surf Theater in SF ( http://tinyurl.com/bfjfa.) A movie you remember for over thirty years with extreme pleasure is a good movie. Write that one down and/or think of it the next time a movie passes out of your mind upon walking out of the theater as they so often seem to do these days. AND there's more VALERIE news...Twisted Spoon Press (http://tinyurl.com/dm2kd) has recently published an English translation of the novel (by Vitezlav Nezval) upon which the movie is based. I'm looking forward to seeing the film again and reading the book for the first time. Surrealism was relatively new to me in 1970 and is one of the only things I can think of that remains new to me thirty-five years later.
There's an essay/review of the film here:http://tinyurl.com/8uxkc
