I think this passage from a wire service article was the most important thing I posted yesterday.
The Bushistas are all about the 'politics' and none about the policy or leadership.
They don't really want to protect us; they just want us to think they do. Campaign '06 is going to be about misdirection: "look over there! OOO scary. Don't think about what we've really been doing." It's worked before but hopefully not this time.
The latest polling of registered voters show that around 60+ % think the invasion and occupation of Iraq was the wrong thing to do. Only 18% of them identified themselves as 'liberals'. So there is hope that people are starting to think about how our insane Mid East policies (& lack there-of) is breeding hatred of the US.
Of course endless war is what they want. It's good for business and besides ruling/investing class kids don't die, only working class kids do.
What scum...

But Bush's Republicans hoped the raid would yield political gains.

"I'd rather be talking about this than all of the other things that Congress hasn't done well," one Republican congressional aide told AFP on condition of anonymity because of possible reprisals.

"Weeks before September 11th, this is going to play big," said another White House official, who also spoke on condition of not being named, adding that some Democratic candidates won't "look as appealing" under the circumstances...
