But it is our duty as American citizens to know the truth. We ARE the government. They all work for us. And if they lied they need to be fired. And if their lies are responsible for the death and maiming of hundreds of thousands of human beings then they need to be brought before a war crimes tribunal. There's no argument. This is axiomatic. What's the alternative? Lies are OK? Mass murder is OK?
