The photo is Henry Corbin:famous French philosopher, professor of philosophy at Sorbonne University & orientalist who spent most of his life in Iran & other Middle East countries.
He spent more than 25 years of his life in doing research & scrutinizing the Islamic world especially Islamic Philosophy and Shi’ite beliefs. His main achievement was the introduction of Mulla Sadra & Suhrawardi to the West. One of his masterpieces is History of Islamic Philosophy. He had a close relation with both Allameh Tabatabaei and Professor Seyyed Hossein Nasr.
